On Saturday, my wife and I had dinner at one of the new restaurants in Adams Morgan - Pi. Pi is a pizzeria and wine bar. It is on 18th Street at the location formerly owned by Blue Fin. My wife first commented on the interior decor. It seems more like a trendy sushi bar or night club, not an italian restaurant. It is stark white except the bar area, which has a bright red wall. The ceiling is very industrial with metal grates that cast an interesting lighting pattern on the wall. The effect is neat, but not really pleasing. But where Pi excels is the pizza and wine list. There is a nice wine selection, with almost all available in 3 oz. and 6 oz. portions as well as by the bottle. The pizzas were delicious! We had the primavera pizza, with tons of roasted vegetables, as well as a simple tomato, buffalo mozzerella, and basil pizza. The staff was very friendly, although a little distracted at times. But all-in-all, it was a nice way to spend a Saturday night in Adams Morgan, and we will be back.
